Los Angeles, California - May 18, 2009 – CPEhr, a Human Resources outsourcing firm, and Junior Achievement of Southern California, a non-profit organization, will host a Job Shadow Day for 30 students from Downtown Business Magnet High School on Thursday, May 28th.
This is CPEhr and Junior Achievement’s second year hosting a Job Shadow Day in an effort to prepare students for their first job. “Job shadowing is not only a way for us to prepare students for their first job, but to also positively influence their success in high-school,” said Dominick Marrone, Human Resources Generalist at CPEhr.
Students will participate in workshops that include presentations on Labor Law, Business Ethics and Financial Preparedness - Understanding the Importance of Healthcare Benefits and Retirement Investing. The presentations will be facilitated by CPEhr employee- volunteers.
Students will also gain first hand exposure of the day-to-day activities performed throughout the Human Resources firm as they shadow professionals in Administration, Benefits, Business Development, Finance, Human Resources, IT, Marketing and Operations. Each volunteer will have an average of two to three students who will perform work-related tasks such as, conducting a telephone customer satisfaction survey with a client, conducting a safety walk-through, and creating on-line tools that will support an organization’s goals. |
