CPEhr Releases 2008 YTD Workers’ Compensation Report Showing Losses 75% Below State Averages
Report shows CPEhr’s aggressive Risk Management and Safety services significantly impact clients’ workers’ compensation experience.
Los Angeles, Calif. – October 5, 2008 - CPEhr, a leading California Professional Employer Organization (PEO), recently released its 2008 year-to-date Claims Analysis Report for its Zurich Insurance Workers’ Compensation program. The program is running at a 13.94 percent loss ratio (the percentage of expenses paid for injuries and lost time, to total premium paid) through September, 2008. That figure is 75 percent below the average loss ratio for the State of California which is 55 percent through June 31, 2008.
Since 2004, CPEhr has covered the majority of their PEO employees under the Zurich program. Close to 8000 employees are currently covered by the plan. Through aggressive and proactive Risk Management and Claims Administration Services, CPEhr has been able to successfully reduce the frequency and severity of workers’ compensation injuries at their clients’ worksites.
“The service we provide adds a layer of expertise to our clients,” states Walter Robinson, CPEhr’s Director of Risk Management. “It takes both preventative loss control as well as the management of claims to be effective in reducing the costs related to workers’ compensation.”
Robinson and the Risk Management team at CPEhr work with clients to proactively implement loss control programs within their organizations. This encompasses a wide range of safety services from OSHA compliance walk-throughs and written safety plans, to safety equipment recommendations and on-site training for the staff.
“Our goal is to prevent as many injuries as possible,” says Robinson, “And mitigate the impact of an injury once it occurs. Simply put, we have the ability and expertise to manage claims to a more favorable outcome.”
Clients report a significant impact to their bottom line, with benefits ranging from tens-of-thousands of dollars in premium savings, more productive staff, and reduced experience modifications.
